Common uses This medicine is an antipruritic used to relieve itching in skin conditions. It may also be used to treat scabies and other conditions as determined by your doctor. Before using INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Directions Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. This medicine comes with a patient information leaflet. Read it carefully. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this medicine. BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE, bathe and dry your skin completely. Apply enough medicine to cover your entire body from the chin down. Rub the medicine in completely. Make sure you apply medicine between the fingers and toes and to all moist areas of the body such as under the arms and to the groin area. Apply the medicine a second time after 24 hours. Do not bathe before applying the second dose. Change into clean clothes 24 hours after the second dose. Also, change your bed linens. Dry clean or wash your clothes and bed linens in hot water. Wait 48 hours after the second dose and bathe to remove the medicine. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. Cautions If your symptoms do not improve or if they become worse, check with your doctor. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE on inflamed or raw, weeping skin. AVOID GETTING THIS MEDICINE IN YOUR EYES or on the inside of your nose or mouth. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. Possible side effects CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you develop irritated skin. If you notice any other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. If you take too much If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed. Additional information If your symptoms do not improve within a few days or if they become worse, check with your doctor. Itching may continue for up to several weeks due to sensitivity to mites. This does not indicate treatment failure. Contact your doctor before using this medicine again. DO NOT SHARE THIS MEDICINE with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE for other health conditions. KEEP THIS MEDICINE out of the reach of children. |
