Grisactin Uses


Grisactin is an antifungal medication. Grisactin is like an antibiotic but is used to treat fungal infections. Griscatin is also used to treat fungal infections of the skin, hair, and nails such as jock itch, athlete's foot, and barber's itch.

How to use Grisactin

Take Grisactin exactly as directed on the package or as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you. Take each dose with a full glass of water, or Take it with a fatty meal to increase its absorption into your body. Never take more of this medication than is prescribed for you.

Grisactin Side Effects

Grisactin drug may cause following serious side effects: allergic reaction (flushing; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; vision problems; rash; itching; or fever). Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take Grisactin and talk to your doctor if you experience,· white patches in your mouth (thrush/ yeast infection), nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, headache, dizziness, or tiredness, insomnia, confusion, numbness or tingling in your hands or feet, or menstrual irregularities. Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual.

Grisactin Precautions

Tell your doctor your medical history especially of : If you had a previous allergic reaction to Grisactin, have porphyria, or have liver disease. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. Grisactin increases sensitivity to sunlight, and severe burning may result. Grisactin should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Grisactin Drug Interactions

Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication that you are uisng, As Grisactin may decrease the effects of the following drugs: oral anticoagulants (blood thinners) such as warfarin (Coumadin). birth control pills. Decreased effectiveness could lead to break-through bleeding and possibly to an unintended pregnancy. salicylates such as aspirin, salsalate (Disalcid, Salsitab, Salflex, others), choline salicylate (Arthropan), magnesium salicylate (Doan's, Magan), and others. cyclosporine (Sandimmune, Neoral). The effects of Grisactin may be decreased by barbiturates such as phenobarbital (Luminal, Solfoton), pentobarbital (Nembutal), secobarbital (Seconal), amobarbital (Amytal), and butabarbital (Butisol). Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with Grisactin.

Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines.

Grisactin Overdose

If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, weakness, and lightheadedness.

Do not share this medication with others.

Grisactin Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Grisactin Storage

Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. Do not store in the bathroom.
